CRS Flow Drive Supports Local Organizations
This summer, the Northwestern CRS community came together for the Flow Drive, a grassroots initiative with a simple but powerful mission: to empower, support, and give to ensure no one goes without period products.
From June 9th through July 14th, faculty, staff, trainees, and friends from across the Evanston and Chicago campuses joined forces to collect essential supplies for neighbors in need. Together, we recognized that access to menstrual products is not a luxury, but a basic health necessity — one that too many individuals in our city are forced to go without.
Thanks to the generosity of our community, the Flow Drive was able to provide donations to two organizations that are making a profound impact every day: Sarah’s Circle in Rogers Park, which supports women who are unhoused or in transition, and Journeys, The Road Home, which serves individuals and families facing homelessness in the northwest suburbs.
By contributing to these centers, we reaffirm our commitment to health equity and dignity for all. Period poverty is not only a public health issue, but also a matter of justice and compassion. Through the Flow Drive, we demonstrate how collective action can bridge gaps and uplift communities that are too often overlooked.
We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed, whether through product donations, time, or spreading the word. Together, we have shown that the CRS community is stronger when we act with empathy and purpose. We hope to do another event like this in the near future! Thank you so much to our Community Engagement Committee for organizing such an impactful drive!
